Washington Capitals Vs. Philadelphia Flyers
___________________________________________________________________ Caps goal tender Theodore made 33 saves tonight and stopped 3 shots in the shootout. Neither Jeff Schultz nor Scottie Upshall are really looking forward to this shot. Washington Capitals Vs. Philadelphia Flyers
Nicklas Backstrom scored in the first period during a power play. Ovechkin taking a huge shot with seconds left in the third. Alex Ovechkin nor Jeff Carter scored tonight, both are tied for the NHL record, 27 goals Viktor Kozlov scored the wining and “only” goal scored by either team in the shootout. Washington Capitals Vs. Philadelphia Flyers
The intensity increased with every minute passing yet both teams maintained a professional attitude. It was a highly anticipated game, Flyers are known to be physical, the crowd expected and encouraged lots of fights which never took place short of; several push and shove scenes.

Caps vs. Flyers; Revenge at the Phone Booth
Tonight the Flyers and their fans will invade the Verizon Center, looking to wreak as much havoc as possible. This will be the second meeting between the two teams this season, and the Caps are coming into the game looking for some revenge after losing their last meeting to Philly 7-1. And that was supposed to be the big comeback game after being beaten by Philly in 7 games in last year's playoffs. So needless to say the Flyers have been giving the Caps a hard time of late, and this has helped create maybe the most heated rivalry for the Caps. Says Tarik; "Mention the Flyers around the Capitals' locker room these days, and there's no longer any doubt that Philadelphia has surpassed Crosby's Penguins as enemy No. 1" Coach Boudreau has also added fuel to the fire by pointing out to the media that the Flyers seemed to run up the score in their last meeting, saying ""What goes around comes around eventually. And it will." When hearing what Boudreau said, Flyers coach John Stevens repsonded, saying; I don't care what he says. I've got my team to get ready here. This is obviously an important game, a hard game, and I don't care what he said, to be honest with you. He can say what he wants. Our team plays the way we play. We're a standup, honest hockey team, and he can save that stuff for the media outside of me because I don't really care to hear it. For the game itself, both teams will be without some of their top talent. For the Caps, Feds is still out, and Fleischmann, the Caps' 3rd leading scorer, won't be available. Also, John Erskine is still waiting for medical clearance to return from his concussion. The Flyers have some new injuries that will keep Antero Niittymaki (groin} and Joffrey Lupul (abdominal strain). Briere and Giroux are still out, although Gagne and Pow are expected to play. As far as the scoring goes, both Theodore and Biron are allowing about 3 goals a game on the season. The over under for tonight's game is 6, and Jimmy the Moose says take the over. So expect to see a lot of scoring, although I imagine it'll be closer than the last meeting between the two teams. Also, over at Bleacher Report, Zach Evans thinks that Nicklas Backstrom may be the most improved player in the league.
